Knowledge Organization System For Circularity Support
Abstract
Nowadays, the search for innovative and sustainable solutions has led to a fundamental reevaluation of economic and industrial models. In this context, the Circular Economy (CE) emerges as a transformative approach that aims to renew the relationship between production, consumption, and waste, promoting efficiency in the use of resources and mitigating environmental impacts. The Digital Product Passport (DPP) promotes a significant transition towards more efficient, transparent, and sustainable systems across the value chain, which can help build sustainable-oriented decision-support systems in the future. The lack of a common vehicle to capture and organize circular data, endowed with shareability functions makes the transition to a more circular economy more difficult, especially for SMEs. This work discusses a semantic knowledge organization system, to build a circular-oriented digital twin to promote a standardized approach for DPP data management.
